MUSE FRONTMAN MOVING IN WITH KATE HUDSON?
Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy may be resettling in New York and moving in with his current flame, actress Kate Hudson. According to U.K. tabloid The Sun, the couple are looking for a place together in the Big Apple, with a source saying, "They're very loved-up, they just click. Kate's had a place in the city for five years but she wants somewhere bigger, so Matt's suggested pooling their resources. Kate wants a studio for Matt and playroom for her son, Ryder."
The couple have been dating for four months ever since meeting up at the Coachella Festival last April. Although they had met previously, both were single this time.
Bellamy had recently broken off with his longtime Italian girlfriend, while Hudson, who was once married to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, had ended a six-month fling with Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.
Although Bellamy and Hudson had been spotted out together, they made their romance public when she was seen watching Muse perform last month at England's Glastonbury festival.
Muse starts a fall North American tour on September 22nd in San Diego.
OZZY SLAMS IRON MAIDEN SINGER OVER 'OZZFEST' INCIDENT
Ozzy Osbourne slammed Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson in a new interview with The Quietus over an incident that occurred on the 2005 Ozzfest tour. During an August 20th show in San Bernardino, California, Sharon Osbourne allegedly messed with Maiden's sound and had the band pelted with eggs onstage, after claiming that Dickinson had made disparaging remarks about her husband throughout the tour.
Ozzy told The Quietus about the incident, "Unbeknown to me, every night he was going on stage slagging me off. And that wasn't fair. If he didn't like the f***in' tour, he should have said "I'm jumping (off) the f***in' tour," but to go on stage and f***in' slag me off for no reason . . . If you've got something to talk to me about, be a man. Come to my face and say, "I think you're a f***in' a*****e." Don't be a f***in' idiot. It's so pathetically childish."
Ozzy added, "To this day I don't understand what the f***in' beef was. I just don't get it. To go on the Ozzfest and slag (people) off, that's crazy. I really think he needs a f***in' psychiatrist if he does that, he's f***ing nuts. It's an irresponsible f***in' thing to do. Sharon must have got pissed off with this c***, you know."
Sharon never denied her involvement, but at the time Ozzy told us that he wanted nothing to do with it: "I had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what went down, because I do not condone any of that kind of crap. Even though the singer was saying bad things, so I heard, I never heard it 'cause I'd never went and seen them. But that very night, the bass player (Steve Harris) comes into my dressing room and said to me, 'I'd like to apologize for our singer.' I was absolutely confused what this guy was on about."
Velvet Revolver replaced Maiden on that tour for the last seven shows after the egg incident.
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood later lashed out at Sharon Osbourne publicly, saying, "In 30 years in this business...I have never seen anything anywhere near as disgusting and unprofessional as what went on that night."
Ozzy is going back out with a six-show Ozzfest run next month, while Iron Maiden is also touring behind a new album.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD SINGER ON FIRST SHOW BACK: 'WE WERE VERY NERVOUS'
Avenged Sevenfold performed live for the first time since the death last December of drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan this past Sunday (July 26th), when the band played at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Behind the drum kit was Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy, who made his live debut with the group after doing the drum parts on their newly released album, Nightmare.
Avenged frontman M. Shadows told us what it was like for the band to play live again after their tragedy: "Collectively we were all very, very nervous to get back up there onstage, but there were so many signs that referenced the Rev, you know, just kids with signs that said 'Rest in peace, Rev' and had things written on them. You know, it was really awesome to see all the kids just so supportive. I mean, kids were just genuinely excited that we were getting back onstage and I think it was a really huge triumph for the band and for them to get us back out there and to feel like we're moving on at this point."
Nightmare, Avenged Sevenfold's fifth album, arrived in stores on Tuesday (July 27th). It follows up the band's self-titled 2007 effort.
The record could debut at Number One on next week's Billboard album chart if sales projections are right.
Portnoy is committed to playing on all the group's 2010 tour dates.
Avenged Sevenfold will co-headline this summer's inaugural Uproar Festival tour with Disturbed and Stone Sour, beginning on August 17th in Minneapolis.

BUCKCHERRY GUITARIST SAYS SALES NOT INDICATOR OF SUCCESS
Buckcherry is streaming its entire new album, All Night Long, online ahead of its release next Tuesday (August 3rd). The record follows up 2008's Black Butterfly, which did not sell much compared to the band's 2006's million-selling comeback effort, 15. Guitarist Keith Nelson told us that even with the decline of CD sales, he is not giving up on making albums: "I believe in the album as an artform. I don't think that putting two songs that are gonna be played on the radio and then a bunch of filler stuff -- that's not why we do this. But I have lost faith in the number of records sold as an indicator of success, because our audience is growing, our business is growing. Nothing has receded, except the actual number of physical records that are sold. So I don't think that's a true indication of our success."
Buckcherry recently teamed with the Natural Resources Defense Council to send all the proceeds from sales of their new song "Our World" to the NRDC's Gulf Recovery Fund.
A new version of the song, which was taken from All Night Long, was made available for purchase as an iTunes exclusive. All the proceeds are going directly to Gulf Coast non-profit groups working to help people, wildlife and fragile ecosystems recover from the BP disaster.
Buckcherry next plays Rock On The Range Canada in Winnipeg on August 7th and the Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota on August 9th. The band will join Nickelback on the road this fall.

SMASHING PUMPKINS RAISE MORE THAN $80K FOR AILING MUSICIAN
The Smashing Pumpkins raised more than $80,000 at a sold-out benefit show in Chicago on Tuesday (July 27th) for Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone. The money from the concert at the Windy City's famous Metro club will go to Leone's ongoing medical care. The Chicago-based musician was hospitalized with severe brain trauma last month after he intervened on the street to stop a woman from being abused by her husband and was himself beaten by the man.
Leone's medical insurance lapsed just two months before the incident.
He was taken to UIC Hospital for emergency brain surgery and had to have a third of his skull removed to alleviate swelling.
Leone is currently in stable condition and awaiting additional brain surgery to reapply the removed portion of his skull.
The show was attended by Illinois governor Pat Quinn, who proclaimed Tuesday "Matthew Leone Day" throughout the state and called Leone "a true American hero."
Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan said in a statement, "I was inspired by Matthew's courageous defense of a woman he didn't even know . . . I spoke to his family at the benefit and they all said that it didn't surprise them at all that he did what he did to stop an injustice."
Corgan added about the show, "I was absolutely honored to be standing on the Metro stage, my musical home, showing our support for one of our own. It was a great night in the long, storied history of Chicago. And an epic show."
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Matthew Leone Fund at Sweet Relief, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to career musicians struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems.
WEBISODES ABOUT DEFTONES BASSIST ACCIDENT POSTED ONLINE
The friends and family of Deftones bassist Chi Cheng have posted the first two in a series of webisodes online that will form a documentary about Cheng's 2008 car accident and aftermath. Cheng remains in a semi-conscious state as a result of the crash and his family and fellow musicians have been soliciting financial aid for his care ever since he was dropped by his insurance company just two months after the accident.
Two more webisodes will be posted in the days ahead, leading up to an August 14th free benefit show for Cheng at the Fairplex in Pomona, California.
Deftones recently released their sixth studio album, Diamond Eyes, which the band began recording following Cheng's accident.
Lead singer Chino Moreno told us that the songs on the record were not really influenced by Cheng's situation: "I didn't really even feel like, with this record, that we had -- because we were going through what we were going through -- that we had to make a record that was directly addressing what we were going through. I think the music, if anything, was an escape. You know, I think a lot of times when people go through hard times, what they do is they bury themselves in their work. Our music being our work, you know, I think that's what we did and it was really therapeutic for us."
Longtime Deftones friend Sergio Vega is currently playing bass with the band and appears on Diamond Eyes.
Deftones will begin their own headlining tour on August 6th in Ventura, California, before hitting the road with Alice In Chains and Mastodon, starting September 16th in Chicago.
